We recently welcomed representatives from the Aviagen Global Animal Welfare Group to the our turkey trials facility, providing a valuable opportunity to highlight our collaborative efforts in welfare-focused poultry research and innovation.
The purpose of the visit was to give guests an in-depth understanding of how the trials farm operates day-to-day, including the various data we routinely record to monitor bird health, behaviour, and performance. Our team guided them through the facility, highlighting key pieces of equipment used on-site to ensure accurate data collection and maintain optimal welfare standards.
During the visit, Valentin Kremer (Genetics Programme Manager for ATL) also delivered a presentation, including a company overview and an insight into our breeding programme, outlining our commitment to continuous improvement in bird health and welfare through responsible genetic selection.
The visit was thoroughly enjoyed and all visitors commented on the friendliness and approachability of the ATL staff throughout the day.
