Aviagen France educational presentation

Aviagen® Turkeys France gave two presentations about the turkey breeding industry to two groups of students from Agricultural schools in Pontivy, Brittany (Lycée Kerlebost and Lycée du Gros Chêne) and IREO Les Herbiers in Vendée. One presentation was given in front of students, following social distancing guidelines and another was given remotely via video conference.

These groups are part of the ‘Centre de Formation Professionnelle’, which combines school education and field practice on farms for one year of the student’s education. Upon completion, students achieve a diploma (Certificate of specialisation) allowing them to establish a career in poultry farming or even apply for a loan in order to buy or construct a poultry farm.

The diploma is mandatory and gives young professional people the opportunity to obtain a farming licence for poultry.

“It’s exciting to see young people showing such enthusiasm for the poultry industry and bringing new forces to the business” said Jean-Luc Favennec, Regional Director for Aviagen Turkeys France.
