Jean-Luc Favennec, Manager of Aviagen Turkeys France Aviagen® Turkeys Ltd (ATL), attended the Neogen Middle East Poultry Conference, on the 16th February 2025 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. During the conference, Jean-Luc Favennec gave two presentations, the first one gave an overview of the turkey industry and information on the current markets. The second presentation focused on biosecurity, giving a lot of recommendations prior to building farms & facilities as well as during production.
Neogen produces a large range of products for farm hygiene, as well as lab tests for genomic and allergen detection. This conference was a unique opportunity to present about the turkey industry to the 120 participants from many different Arabic countries, which is not commonly used to breed turkeys, although they do import further processed turkey products from South America, Russia & Europe. ATL is pursuing the Middle East to encourage more turkey to be able to offer a competitive meat against lamb & beef, in a territory where pork is non-existent. Egypt has a lot of turkey farms, and restaurants offer different forms of turkey products to the consumer.
An excellent time was had by all & it was a great opportunity for ATL to wish the attendees a good month of Ramadan.
